Research at Berger-Levrault is tackling a new frontier in artificial intelligence: that of (partially) autonomous agents capable of reasoning, planning, collaborating, orchestrating and learning in complex business environments.
Our new white paper, “Beyond automation – How agentic AI is transforming the software industry”, shares with you an in-depth analysis of this ongoing technological revolution, its promises as well as its challenges.
White paper written by members of Berger-Levrault’s BL Research team, Semester 1, 2025
AI in Search of Autonomy
Agentic-AI represents a conceptual, technological and strategic breakthrough, establishing a new form of human-machine interaction thanks to autonomous digital agents. These agents will be endowed with the faculties of perception, decision-making and interaction, and are designed to achieve objectives (semi)autonomously, sometimes in coordination with other human or artificial systems.
This paradigm opens the way to unprecedented use cases in the software sector, for example in local authorities and the maintenance sector, with its potential for intelligent automation, increased human capacity and continuous service improvement.
Many applications will transform Berger-Levrault software, from design to use: report generation, analysis for decision-making, augmented search, correction and analysis of anomalies, voice agent for technical assistance, analysis of consumption and drafting of recommendations…
A structured and responsible approach
This white paper is based on the scientific state of the art, internal experiments conducted by our BL Research team, and an active technology watch in the international AI ecosystem. This publication is fully in line with Berger-Levrault’s commitment to AI that is trusted, explainable, and rooted in the real-world uses of its customers.
But there is still much to explore. By making this reflection public, our aim is to share a structuring vision, open up debate and contribute to a collective understanding of the transformations to come in our society!
