SME-midcaps club, Innovation & Territories with Stephanie Rey

The club is composed of company director, innovation regional authority and research and higher education establishment. The club purpose is to identify good practice and get them known, inform public authority on SME and midcaps difficulties and concerns.
Monday 6th of December, Stephanie Rey, Doctor in Human-Machine Interface, and Christophe Bortolaso, Head of Research in Berger-Levrault’s DRIT team, will present how Human and Social Science influence technology research and development.

HSS PLACE IN TECHNOLOGY RESEARCH

Technology, especially digital is present in all area. Sometimes, technology increased maturity and their market entry is surprising. Some technology or innovative use enter the market at a fast pace (e.g. social media, smartphones) while others hardly find their public despite technological promises kept. Why this difference?
The reason is not always linked to the technology maturity but to the social acceptability. Sociology, ethnography, ergonomics, cognitive psychology, ethics and philosophy inform us on the connection between people, the world and intermediary objects companies create.
Through examples, our team members will explains how the group take into account human preoccupation in technology development. This presentation should make companies and territories aware that innovation in HSS in fundamental for research and technology.
